We're growing fast and building a team of people who genuinely love sport. We need someone who can build the people infrastructure that makes that possible - without turning PlayBlue into a company that feels like it has an HR department.
What you'll own
Everything people. From the policies that hold things together to the culture that makes people want to stay.
In the early days, that means getting the foundations right - scalable HR policies, org design that makes sense as we grow, and a TA playbook that can hire great frontline people and sharp corporate talent at the same time. As we roll out stores, you'll be the person making sure each location has the right headcount, the right onboarding, and the right processes to hit the ground running.
You'll define how we manage performance, how we develop people, and how we compensate fairly. You'll make sure the culture we're building on paper - sporty, energetic, customer-first - is actually what people experience when they show up to work. And you'll give us the data to know when it isn't.
What we're looking for
8–12 years in HR leadership, with real experience in retail, consumer, or omnichannel environments. You've built teams from scratch, not just inherited them. You know how to move fast in a startup without cutting corners on the things that protect people. Strong on labour law, strong on stakeholder management, and ideally, someone who has a sport they're actually passionate about.
